Our Story
Community Roots

Founded in 2010 as a drop-in soccer club to help immigrant and low-income children get involved in community, we have grown to an organization that provides opportunities to all.

Our Work
Community Programs

Soccer club, food security, tutoring, summer camps, after-school programs, music and arts groups, groups for girls and women and elders - join us!

Our Champions
Community Support

We rely on your support - learn how to donate time as a volunteer, or funds as a donor.

From a soccer program
to a neighbourhood movement.

Soccer Without Boundaries breaks down barriers and lets everyone feel that they belong. Participants build self-esteem, develop leadership skills and strengthen social relationships through teamwork, fair play, and conflict resolution. Parents and families of participants also find new means to volunteer and get involved. As Jean Claude likes to say, "It's a win-win-win!"

Founder and Executive Director

Jean-Claude Munyezamu is a Rwandan Canadian who escaped the genocide in 1994 and volunteered in refugee camps in Somalia and Sudan before moving to Canada in 1998. In 2010, learning that children in his neighbourhood were getting into trouble, Jean-Claude took some soccer balls to a nearby green space on a Saturday morning. He continues to nurture community relationships with each participating kid and parent, while directing our growing organization.
